Cocoa delight

5 stars 5.0 This review helped: 0 / 0

Leaves are completely black. Dry leaves smell like cocoa. Wet leaves smell after cocoa with the sweet scent of ripe fruits. The brew is nicely balanced and smoothed. The taste is sweet. You can find there a taste of fruits, nuts, and light taste of wood. No astringency, no bitterness - simply the concert of tastes. The second infusion 10s, to get more intense teaste. It seems to me that the cocoa becomes more like dark chocolate. The flavour is more intense, sweeter, just more chocolate in the taste. Still there is no bitterness or astringency. Very good red tea, I am giving 5 stars.

Quotes - Pu-erh

„tong feng; 通风 - air-flow. Puer should be stored somewhere where there is a little air movement - it doesn't need to be much. Even if it is quite humid, the airflow will guard against tea developing mould. However, care should be taken that tea is not stored in a draft which will dry the tea tea out.“

„ji qi sha (de); 机器杀(的) - Machine fried. Most tea famers have a machine for the sha qing process, which is generally an electrically driven revolving drum, fired by a wood fire. Machine fried tea is probably better than poorly hand fried tea, but lacks the possibility of the more tactile method of hand frying.“

Luo Shui Dong 2012 Spring

Luo Shui Dong 2012 Spring
4.0 stars 1 review

This cake is made from high quality gushu leaves sourced from Luo Shui Dong 落水洞 - a famous puer producing village in Yiwu. The farmers here are primarily Han ethnicity, known for their excellent hand-processing technique. This early spring tea produces is a clear bright yellow liquor, with a sweet, buttery mouthfeel. Because it is easy to drink when young, Luo Shui Dong is a good entry point for those new to sheng (raw) puer, or those who don’t like bitter or astringent flavors.
