This tea come from autumn 2014 harvest from Mengsong (Menghai), blend of tea from different villages, trees 60-80 years old, made by Dai minority. Put the tea into bamboo tube, then bake bamboo on the fire until lightly toasted. Press the tealeaves with a wooden stick when they are softened, and then fill up the tube again with more tealeaves. Repeat this procedure until tealeaves in the tube are compacted. Sweet, full tea soup with strong floral aroma. Drink now...
This tea come from Mengsong mountain, wild arbor tea garden. Trees are 80-120 years old, growing wild in forest.¨ We visited this garden in Januar 2015 and very like the place. We bought first harvest which was just 30kg only. Hand processing in every step and sun-dried, traditional stone pressed in Menghai town. Typical Mengsong taste, aromatic tea soup, sweet, full and strong, bittersweet long aftertaste. Manufacturer : Cha Wang Shop...
This spring we bought entire collection of puerh teas from Cha Wang Shop produced in 2015 and we are slowly drinking through it. The collection consists of 6 puerh cakes in the size Xiao - 200g:
Mengsong is one of the oldest ancient tea area in Menghai. Baotang old village is located next to the ancient tea garden. The ancient tea gardens are at an altitude of 1800 meters above the mountains. We tasted many kinds of Maocha and this is one of the pure Gushu(Ancient tea trees) tea samples. This tea has soft texture - mildly sweet and flowers aromas. Slightly bitter, cool and refreshing feeling left in the mouth.
Boyou tea factory was started by yet another ex-Menghai tea blender. Boyou is well known for showcasing Menghai tea mountains and making Ripe Pu-erhs that rival Da Yi ripe teas. This particular tea cake was the Silver Prize winner at the 2007 Tea Culture Exhibition in Chengdu. It is a tea produced entirely from Meng Song mountain tea trees. Meng Song tea trees are well known for being a slightly smaller leaf varietal that was the result of cross-breeding several hundred years ago. The tea...
This is the first time we made blending raw puer cake, so we took advice from a more experienced tea seller, who is also a friend. He offered many high quality Maocha from Mengsong area. The materials we chose came from the highest altitude (1860m) place, next to the Naban river national nature reserve. Far away from noise and pollution! Jingmai tea came from the same tea-maker as last year. We watched them only pick ancient trees for us. All the tea leaves are from one single...
„Mr. Gao showed us how to identify gu shu (ancient tree) tea leaves by looking at their texture, rubbing them between your fingers, and eating them raw. Old tea trees produce thicker, more leathery leaves that don’t easily come apart when you rub them. And gu shu buds should be white & shiny. When you chew them, the flavor is very bitter but there is also a strong sweet fragrance, and the juice is relatively easy to swallow. Tai di cha (terrace plantation tea) is also bitter but with a strong, lasting astringency on the sides & front of the tongue, and the juice is harder to swallow.“
