Pu-erh

This spring we bought entire collection of puerh teas from Cha Wang Shop produced in 2015 and we are slowly drinking through it. The collection consists of 6 puerh cakes in the size Xiao - 200g:

Xizi tuo is one of famous Xiaguan Fei Tai products. Used high quality blend of 1-3 years aged materials and pressed on spring 2008. This make the tea taste much more mature than other 2008 teas. There are few fat and silver buds on the top of tuo, it's a typical sign of Fei Tai products. "FT(For Taiwan)" means this brick was a special order of "Fei Tai" Company. This tea is from Jingmai Da Zhai, grown in Da Ping Zhang area, and it is considered to be of the finest Jingmai tea available on market. We took few kilos of this Huang Pian to Kunming, where some of it we offer as loose leaves and rest will be pressed into the cakes. This raw puerh is the highest selection of older tea leaves ( Huang Pian - yellow leaves, or Da Ye Zi ). This is a classic and old style cake from Nannuoshan Tea Factory which was renamed as Menghai Banzhang Tea Factory from 2005. This cake made of 2005 pure sun-dried large leaf material, compression is medium. After stored for 6 years in Kunming, this tea is ready for drink now but still very powerful with good choice for aging ! Nice golden liquor with typical floral aromas of Nannuoshan tea, full in the mouth, fruity with quickly huigan! Later infusions are sweet and smooth.

Jia Ji (甲级) - "A-Grade" Tea was stored in mountain district of Taiwan. I was drinking other day a sample from a FengHuang JiaJi 1998 Sheng Tuo. This tuo is made of wild arbor sun-dried material from Youle mountain, also called Jinuoshan, Youle is one of the Six Famous Tea Mountains in Xishuanbanna. Spring Youle mountain material pressed to tuo shape. Product name (stamp on the wrapper) : Qi Zi Yuan This cake come from natural growing tea garden in Man Xin Long, Bulang mountain. This tea is powerfull with nice aroma, full and strong, bitter with fast huigan and very good energy. Great for long term aging! This cake is in limited quantity

Bought this ripe tea recently for USD 5.00. There's no printed info on the cover. Claimed by the tea shop that the manufactured year is 2006. Can anyone out there can verify it. Thanks.

This tea most closely resembles CNNP 7532, but we are labeling it as tiepai [pasted brand] because it is too difficult to pinpoint the exact origins of the cake and we do not want to misrepresent it. Stored in Guangdong province, this tea has a slight humidity to it, but the cakes and tea are very clean. Some cakes have a neifei [inner ticket] buried in the middle of the cake, some are on the surface, and one cake we opened did not have a neifei.

The LaoManE rules over this autumn teas. In this village you may find really bitter tea and also sweet teas as the villagers call it. Trees are relative old, but farmers cut the branches when trees get too tall. Tea trees are kept at easy-picking height because the tea is picked and made by old women in this village. Factory - „tailor-made” private production “Zhong Cha Gong Si” in Dayi (Menghai tea factory) Taste - After 12 years the taste is smooth and fine, its rich body has still a great potential to develop its character. A premium ripe tea composed entirely from 6 and 4 years aged ripe tea from Lincang. Light to medium fermentation spring material from old plantation tea trees gives this tea a strong taste and mouth-feel. Nice huigan and noticeable cha qi! Will develop more texture and nuances with the passing of years.

The Naka king makes its way with a robust and specific taste even in the autumn season. Very powerful tea that despite it's overwhelming strengh makes you calm and quiet. Sweetish and very pleasant aftertaste. Nicely made leaves are visible from the first sight, strong stalks and veins are apparent in this high mountain gushu pu-erh tea.
